What makes Cert Hero Different?
Cert Hero is a fully managed, done for you service, not a guide, course, or advice-only provider. We complete all paperwork, prepare and upload all evidence, and handle every online submission on your behalf. This includes liaising directly with assessment authorities, training providers, and relevant organisations throughout the process.
Cert Hero is led by a qualified tradesman who has personally completed the Australian skills assessment and certification process. This combination of lived experience and full-service delivery ensures applications are accurate, compliant, and submitted correctly the first time.
Skills Assessment and Trade Recognition
What is an Australian Skills Assessment?
An Australian skills assessment is a formal process used to determine whether your trade qualifications, training, and work experience meet current Australian industry standards. It is commonly required for employment, licensing, site access, and certain certification or migration pathways.
The purpose of the assessment is to confirm that your skills are equivalent to those of an Australian-qualified tradesperson in the same occupation. A successful outcome may allow you to work legally in your trade, meet employer or site requirements, apply for licensing where applicable, or progress into further certification or employment pathways.
Which assessment authorities do you work with?
Cert Hero works with all relevant assessment and recognition bodies, including:
-
VETASSESS
-
Trades Recognition Australia (TRA)
We can assess your background first to ensure the correct authority and pathway is used, reducing delays and avoiding incorrect applications.
Can Cert Hero apply on my behalf?
Yes. With your authorisation, Cert Hero manages the entire application process from start to finish. This includes preparing documents, completing online forms, uploading evidence, liaising with assessment bodies, responding to requests for further information, and tracking your application through to outcome.
Overseas Trade Recognition
I trained overseas. Can I still work as a tradie in Australia?
In most cases, yes. Australia recognises many overseas trade qualifications, but they must be formally assessed. Cert Hero specialises in aligning overseas qualifications and work experience with Australian standards and assessment requirements.
What evidence is required for overseas skills recognition?
Evidence varies by trade but commonly includes:
-
Trade certificates or qualifications
-
Employer references
-
Payslips, contracts, or tax records
-
Photos or videos of work performed
Cert Hero ensures all evidence is structured, compliant, and presented correctly before submission.
What if my documents are incomplete or missing?
This is very common. Cert Hero helps reconstruct work history, prepare compliant employer references, identify acceptable alternative evidence, and avoid refusals caused by missing or incorrectly formatted documents.
Will I need to complete a technical interview or practical assessment?
Some trades and pathways require a technical interview or practical assessment. This depends on your trade, experience, and assessment authority. Enquire now to find out more about whether you require either. Cert Hero provides structured preparation, including interview guidance, trade-specific expectations, and practical assessment readiness so you know exactly what is required.
Mining, FIFO & Offshore Oil and Gas
How does Cert Hero help people get into FIFO and Mining roles?
Cert Hero helps individuals become FIFO and mining compliant by managing the full process of obtaining the required certifications, tickets, and compliance documentation needed to work on Australian mine sites. We assess your background, intended role, and site requirements, then identify exactly which tickets and training you need.
Cert Hero completes all paperwork, applies for all required courses, coordinates enrolments with approved training providers, and manages every online submission on your behalf. If in-person training or assessment is required, your only responsibility is to attend. Everything else is handled by Cert Hero from start to finish.
Cert Hero works closely with a network of reputable Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). These established relationships allow us to secure efficient scheduling and competitive pricing for training, helping clients avoid unnecessary costs and delays.
What is required to work offshore in Australia?
To work offshore in Australia, you must hold specific offshore safety and competency tickets that meet industry and employer requirements. These certifications are mandatory for working on offshore rigs, platforms, and vessels, regardless of whether you hold a trade qualification.
Cert Hero helps tradespeople become offshore competent by identifying the exact offshore tickets required for their role, completing all applications, and coordinating enrolments with approved training providers. Cert Hero handles all paperwork and online submissions on your behalf. If training is delivered in person, your only responsibility is to attend. Everything else is managed by Cert Hero from start to finish.
What tickets do I need to work offshore in Australia?
To work offshore, workers must hold mandatory offshore safety and competency certifications, which may include:
-
Offshore safety and emergency response training
-
BOSIET or approved equivalent training
-
Refresher courses where applicable
-
Role-specific offshore competence tickets
Cert Hero identifies exactly which tickets you need for your role and manages all course applications and enrolments on your behalf. Cert Hero works closely with a network of established RTOs. Apprentices and New To Site Pathways
Do you help apprentices, overseas tradespeople and people new to site?
Yes. Cert Hero supports apprentices, labourers, overseas-qualified tradespeople, Australian tradespeople, and anyone who is new to site-based work environments. This pathway is suitable for workers at any stage who need the correct Australian site tickets, inductions, and mandatory training to legally access and work on Australian sites.
In Australia, specific safety and compliance tickets are often required before you can even enter a worksite, regardless of your trade, experience level, or country of qualification. Cert Hero identifies exactly which site tickets, inductions, and training are required based on your role, industry, and work environment.
Cert Hero manages all applications, enrolments, and online submissions on your behalf. If in-person training or assessment is required, your only responsibility is to attend.
Cert Hero works closely with reputable Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), allowing us to arrange appropriate training pathways, efficient scheduling, and competitive pricing.
In addition to ticketing and training, Cert Hero provides career mapping support, helping labourers and tradespeople understand progression pathways, site requirements, and long-term career opportunities within the Australian industry.
Fees and Payments
How much does Cert Hero cost?
Cert Hero charges one clear fee per pathway, which reflects the cost of Cert Hero’s professional service only. This includes eligibility assessment, pathway planning, evidence preparation, application management, and full coordination of your process. Assessment authority fees (such as those charged by TRA or VETASSESS) and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) fees for any required training are not included in the pathway fee displayed on the website, as these costs vary depending on trade, role, and individual circumstances. Please Enquire now if you are unsure of your eligibility or visit our ‘Plans and Pricing’ page to get started with Cert Hero.
How do payments work?
Cert Hero uses a two-stage payment process to ensure applications are lodged correctly and to protect clients from paying non-refundable authority fees too early.
Stage 1: Cert Hero Service Fee
You can pay the Cert Hero pathway fee directly via the Plans and Pricing page on our website. Once payment is made, you will receive an onboarding form so we can collect the information required to commence your pathway.
Alternatively, you may choose to enquire first and speak with a member of the Cert Hero team. After confirming the correct pathway, Cert Hero can generate an invoice for the service fee.
Stage 2: Assessment Authority and Training Fees
Once eligibility is confirmed, evidence is prepared, and your application is ready to lodge, Cert Hero will issue a separate invoice for any required assessment authority fees (such as TRA or VETASSESS) and applicable training costs.
This ensures:
-
You only pay authority fees when your application is ready
-
Non-refundable fees are not paid prematurely
-
The process runs smoothly without delays
With your authorisation, Cert Hero can manage all payments and submissions on your behalf.
What is included in the pathway fee?
Your pathway fee is designed to be all-inclusive and typically covers:
-
Cert Hero’s fully managed service
-
All application preparation and paperwork
-
All online submissions
-
Coordination with training providers and assessment authorities
-
Required training and course fees
-
Assessment authority fees where applicable
This means you are not required to pay multiple organisations separately or manage payments to different RTOs or authorities.
